Omnetics has added a new watertight, overmoulded part to its Nano 360° product line, taking advantage of the rugged and reliable Flex-Pin contact system.
Spaced on 0,64 mm centre lines, the SureCon 360° range is part of the smallest Mil-quality circular connector family available, with extremely small outer diameters ranging from 8,3 mm to 9,8 mm.
With the ability to withstand high shock and vibration while maintaining their electrical integrity, these connectors are ideal for the most demanding applications. Gold plated contacts are polarised and shrouded by a unique liquid crystal polymer insulator, and specifically designed to maintain flexibility and low contact resistance.
Insulator sizes of 6-, 11- and 16-contact arrangements are available in a pre-cabled format. All three sizes are available in both inline and protruding panel mount configurations. Elaborate wire harnessing, custom overmoulding and custom shells are also available upon request.
Each SureCon 360° version uses a market specific cable and plastic overmould with characteristics known to be vital for usage within that particular field.
The commercial version features a standard #32 AWG cable, with a grey jacket material of TPE or TPU depending on pin count. The Mil/Aero version features a flame retardant, halogen free #32 AWG cable with a braided shield, covered by a black TPU Jacket. Finally, the medical version features a bio-compatible (per ISO10993) #32 AWG cable, covered with a light grey TPU jacket.
