The ‘Breeze’ is a locally designed and manufactured prototyping platform for 28-pin PIC microcontrollers.

Drawing inspiration from the popular Arduino prototyping boards, it features the same form factor and connector layout, meaning that most Arduino shields are also compatible with the platform.

The Breeze also features a mikroBus socket, making it compatible with over 40 ‘click’ accessory boards from mikroElektronika, which can extend its functionality with features such as GSM, Wi-Fi, motion detection, etc. For storage/data logging, a microSD socket is included onboard.

The Breeze is a low-cost solution, and is compatible with (but not restricted to) the free Amicus compiler from Crownhill Associates. The board comes pre-loaded with a fast USB bootloader, meaning that no external programmer is needed in order to program it (although programming connections are provided on the board).
