Vision sensor for presence detection

Keyence has introduced the IV series vision sensor targeting applications that formerly required multiple conventional photoelectric or proximity sensors. It can be used on production lines to differentiate and measure multiple product features simultaneously in order to perform in-process quality control inspections that are too complicated for ordinary sensors.

The IV vision sensor is a less expensive alternative to a full vision system if all the capabilities of a vision system are not needed. It is a user-friendly system with autofocus, auto brightness and self-contained lighting that enables quick and easy setup and deployment.

The device can be set up with either a dedicated intelligent monitor or with a PC, and is available in several models for close-up to long-range measurement. Eight different sensor heads are available to choose from.
