Texas Instruments announced its new Tiva ARM MCU platform. The first devices in the new family are the Tiva C Series TM4C123x ARM Cortex-M4 MCUs, formerly known as Stellaris LM4F. Their floating-point core operates at up to 80 MHz and they feature two 12-bit analog-to-digital converters (ADCs) and three comparators. On-chip connectivity options include USB (host, device and On-The-Go), UARTs, I²C, SSI/SPI and CAN. The devices support constrained power budgets with standby currents as low as 1,6 μA, and offer up to 256 KB Flash and 32 KB SRAM memory, as well as integrated EEPROM for high-endurance non-volatile storage of user interface or configuration parameters.
