Low-power 14-bit ADCs

Analog Devices introduced two 14-bit A/D converters claiming to provide the lowest power in the smallest package size in their class. Targeted at industrial ultrasound and instrumentation, healthcare imaging, military countermeasure and communications receiver applications, the 16-channel, 65 MSps AD9249 and the 8-channel, 125 MSps AD9681 are available in a compact 10 x 10 mm package, feature on-chip sample-and-hold circuitry and achieve a spurious free dynamic range greater than 90 dBc and signal-to-noise ratio of 74 dBFS or better. They are easy to use with data clock outputs that operate at frequencies of up to 500 MHz and 455 MHz respectively and support double-data-rate operation.
