With its launch of the innovative new Schroff ‘Interscale’ product family, Pentair now offers enclosures for non-standardised, smaller form factors, so providing a flexible platform solution to meet current trends in miniaturisation and individualisation.
The first product in this family is the Interscale M case in metal. Its many areas of application include as a fanless fieldbus enclosure, or for single-board computers or ARM modules, mobile diagnosis or therapeutic equipment for medical systems, PC-based point-of-sale (POS) systems, video monitoring for building services or peripheral control units for industrial applications.
As with all platform concepts from Pentair, it is available with three levels of service options: an off-the-shelf case, a modified case or a customised case. The off-the-shelf option, available in 1, 2 or 3 U and various widths and depths, consists of four elements: a robust U-shaped body, front and rear panels and a cover.
21 different case sizes with solid side panels and 19 sizes with perforated side panels for forced air cooling are available directly from stock. The versions with solid side panels offer protection to IP30. Removable front and rear panels allow easy access to the electronics within. The case can be assembled or dismantled with just two screws, which greatly reduces integration time.
The integral electromagnetic protection is achieved by means of interlocking case walls, and is assured even with perforated side panels at roughly 20 dB up to 2 GHz. Along with the wide palette of standard accessories, e.g. the flexible PCB fixing, different plug-in feet, various fans and fixing elements, the customer obtains a good basis even with the off-the-shelf product for integrating electronics quickly and easily into the enclosure.
Further modifications such as the case colour, cut-outs and printing on the front and rear panels enable the case to be further individualised.
