Plastic cases for mobile electronics
4 June 2014, Enclosures, Racks, Cabinets & Panel Products

The new DATEC-COMPACT range of mobile enclosures from OKW has been given a robust design and offers an ergonomic shape to provide the user with a secure hold. This allows fatigue-free operation in a wide variety of situations.

Through the use of a UV-resistant, flame-resistant material ASA+PC-FR (UL 94 V-0), an already foamed-in seal and the resulting protection class IP65, the DATEC-COMPACT is ideal for indoor as well as for outdoor applications.

The cases consist of a top part and a bottom part, which offers steady operation thanks to the finger recess at the rear. The individual components are connected with four T10 corrosion-resistant stainless steel TORX screws. Besides this, bottom parts are available with and without battery compartment for 3 x AAA batteries (S version) /3 x AA batteries (M/L versions). This protected compartment also has sufficient space for SD cards and/or USB connectors.

In addition to these designs there are also versions available from stock with two gold-plated contact pins for data transmission and charging purposes. Matching accessories such as a specially shaped wall suspension element which is open at the bottom for possible contacts or cable connections, or a station including bottom panel, open up many different application options.

The DATEC-COMPACT range is available in the colours off-white (RAL 9002) and lava. Three sizes are available, with the following dimensions: S at 136 x 74 x 32 mm, the M version at 172 x 92 x 39 mm, and L at 206 x 110 x 47 mm. Possible applications include measurement and control technology, mobile data recording, medical, laboratory and environmental technology, and outdoor applications.
