M/A-COM Technology Solutions has released a high-power pulsed amplifier designed for civil air traffic control and weather radar applications. The device can be used individually, or in a complete M/A-COM chipset solution.
The MAAP-011022 covers 2,7 – 3,0 GHz in a 6 mm PQFN, 28-lead SMT package. It boasts 7 W of pulsed power, 23 dB small signal gain and is designed to provide very rugged performance under load mismatch. The MMIC’s balanced architecture enables a very robust solution with excellent return loss across the frequency band and high performance under demanding VSWR load conditions.
With +10 V bias operation and 50 Ω impedance, this IC utilises one of M/A-COM’s highly advanced 0,5 μm pHEMT processes to enable increased integration. The MAAP-011022 is encapsulated in a halogen-free, environmentally friendly mould compound. It is RoHS compliant and 260°C reflow compatible, operating at an 8% duty cycle.
