Single contact wire-to-board connector
10 June 2015
Interconnection
AVX has added a single contact, wire-to-board insulation displacement connector (IDC) with plated through-hole terminations to its 9176 series which was previously comprised exclusively of surface mount technology (SMT) connectors.
Delivering a gas-tight connection to the PCB for long-term reliability, preassembled strain relief caps with through-wire or end-stop configurations for maximum flexibility, and the tested ability to withstand automotive levels of shock, vibration and temperature cycling, the new single-tine 9176-60X PTH connector provides a high-performance solution for areas of the industrial control, SSL, smart grid, medical and transportation markets that utilise leaded components.
The connector is rated for 600 V a.c. and is capable of accepting #24 – #18 AWG solid or stranded wires with 5 A – 9 A current ratings. It is compatible with potting and overmoulding for sealed or waterproof environments, with an operating temperature range spanning -40°C to +125°C.
