Piezoceramic speakers

25 November 2015 Analogue, Mixed Signal, LSI

The Blue line SPS piezoceramic speaker series from Sonitron, with its combination of electrical and mechanical specifications, is well suited for a broad array of applications.

Equipped with a strong adhesive tape and soldering connection pads, the speaker is ready for easy mounting and fast production. Its casing, which features a slim form factor, is designed to avoid sound wave reflection in the air outlet. Models include the SPS-29-T00 (1 kHz – 20 kHz frequency range), SPS-41-T00 (450 Hz – 20 kHz), SPS-53-T00 (300 Hz – 20 kHz) and SPS-68-T00 (250 Hz – 20 kHz); all of which exhibit total harmonic distortion below 1%.

The speakers consume very little power and can be driven directly by an IC. They can handle up to a 60 Vp-p (21,21 Vrms) source, producing sound pressure at levels up to 93 dB (at 10 cm, 60 Vp-p). Capable of operating in temperatures between -20°C and +60°C, they are also dust-, water- and shock-proof and weigh between 3,1 and 21 grams.
