PC/104 format power supplies

25 November 2015 Power Electronics / Power Management Computer/Embedded Technology

The new Jupiter-MM-5000 family of high-efficiency, high-precision DC-DC power supplies from Diamond Systems is available in both PC/104 and PC/104- Plus form factors. They consist of a PC/104 form factor module with complete DC-DC voltage regulator circuitry, integrated thermal solution, detachable screw terminal block I/O connections and ISA/PCI bus connectors. The wide input voltage range of 7 to 34 V d.c. is compatible with industry standard 12 V, 24 V and 28 V inputs.

Delivering efficiency as high as 95%, Jupiter-MM-5000 was engineered for rugged applications such as automotive or on-vehicle. Extended temperature operation of -40°C to +85°C is tested and guaranteed, and low-profile, surface mount components reduce susceptibility to shock and vibration. I/O connections are made with locking screw terminal blocks for the highest degree of ruggedness.

The power supplies come with either heatsinks for lower-powered models or heat spreaders for higher-powered models. They can deliver up to 196 W output power at 25°C, and additional models with complete software programmability are expected to be introduced in early 2016. Several minimum-order-quantity (MOQ) options are available for the Jupiter-MM-5000 family including +3,3 V at 5 A output and dual input power connectors.
