Coilcraft has released two new series of surface mount planar transformers for power over Ethernet (PoE) and 48 V network power applications. The PL160 is rated for 160 W between 200 kHz and 700 kHz with a nominal 48 V input, and the PL300 is rated to 300 W.
Both product series offer high efficiency, DCR as low as 7,2 m, and leakage inductance down to 0,20 μH. They also provide 1500 Vrms primary-to-secondary isolation and 0,229 mm clearance above the seating plane. Both are RoHS compliant and feature matte tin over nickel over brass terminations. Both series can also be specially ordered with an optional auxiliary winding.
