Shielded box for RF testing

The R&S TS7124 RF shielded box from Rohde & Schwarz offers shielding in excess of 80 dB at 6 GHz. Its frequency range from 300 MHz to 6 GHz makes it suitable for a variety of wireless communications applications, such as detecting production errors in mobile devices or antenna pattern errors, performing end-to-end tests on WLAN routers, or testing radar sensors in automobiles.

The box can be installed in a 19” rack, and its interior dimensions of 300 x 334 x 480 mm (W x H x D) offers sufficient space for testing even large devices. The box can also be equipped with an antenna ring for the placement of multiple antennas. Users can flexibly create their own radiation patterns and measure the radiated power for selected orientations. The new, optionally available Vivaldi antennas ensure reliable and reproducible measurements.

The TS7124 can be used in the development lab, but is particularly suited for the production line with its automatic or manual open and close functionality. Its robust design permits more than a million open and close cycles without any impact on the shielding effectiveness. The special ‘soft close’ feature makes additional protection during automated operation unnecessary.
