Handheld cases in IR-permeable plastic

OKW’s wide-format Soft-Case handheld enclosures are now also available moulded in infrared-permeable PMMA plastic as standard for remote control technology. Other applications include measurement and control, communications, medical devices and laboratory equipment, peripherals and interfaces.

The ergonomic cases combine a large recessed interface area for big displays and membrane keypads with a soft-contoured design for maximum user comfort. Although principally a handheld enclosure, Soft-Case can also be specified for desktop and wall mounted electronics. A raised connector mounting panel on the wide edge enables it to accommodate more connections.

Soft-Case is available in three sizes (from 102 x 65 x 19 mm to 150 x 92 x 28 mm) with battery compartments (2 x AAA, 2 x AA, 4 x AA, 1 x 9 V). The clip-on lid of the battery compartment can also be screw fixed. It can also be specified without a battery compartment, in four sizes ranging from 82 x 51 x 14 mm to 150 x 92 x 28 mm.

All the cases can be specified as standard in off-white (RAL 9002) or lava grey ABS (UL 94 HB); in off-white, carbon-neutral biodegradable bioplastic; or in black (RAL 9005) infrared-permeable PMMA. Accessories include intermediate rings to increase the height of the enclosures. They are available as standard in matt chromed ABS (UL 94 HB); off-white (RAL 9002) ABS; lava grey ABS; volcano grey soft-touch SEBS/TPE; off-white bioplastic and black (RAL 9005) PMMA.

Customising options include CNC milling and drilling; custom colours; special finishes (such as lacquering and water transfer printing); special materials (such as carbon neutral bioplastic); digital, silk-screen and tampo printing of legends and logos; RFI/EMI shielding and assembly of components.
