Mexico purchases thermal imagers to aid in flu screening

27 May 2009 News

In recent weeks, airport officials in Mexico have invested nearly a half a million dollars in purchasing thermal imagers (infrared cameras) from Fluke to help them screen people for H1N1 influenza A, or ‘swine flu’.

Actum Electronics is supplying a range of ESD chairs with a moulded PU seat and back foam that are ergonomically contoured for enhanced safety and comfort. The method of foam production employed ensures that the foam never loses its shape or density, even after long periods of time or continuous use.

Conductive castors are made with fibre-reinforced nylon for extra strength and durability.

These ESD chairs comply with EOS/ESD standard 1.0 for ESD seating. Typical resistance ratings on all chairs are from 106 to 107 Ω with decay time typically at 0,5 seconds. A metal drag chain comes standard, which acts as an extra safety measure, ensuring a path to ground at all times. Should one of the castors be lifted off or a glide become coated with wax or dust from the floor, the drag chain can be relied upon for continuity.

These chairs are said to offer a highly competitive cost-quality ratio and have officially been approved by Nokia South Africa for use in all its ESD compliant repair centres.
