Smaller housing, higher performance, flexibility and new application possibilities through miniaturisation - these were the objectives Balluff set when designing its inductive mini sensors. Whether in handling, assembly, electronics production or even in microtechnology, the company says these miniature sensors are the ideal solution - they combine long switching distances with the latest integrated circuitry in the smallest possible housings.
The usefulness of so-called miniature proximity switches used to be compromised by short switching distances. In addition to lack of installation space, they were also difficult and time-consuming to adjust for reliable switching. Here the Balluf minis can offer advantages: they are available in housing diameters of 3 mm and 4 mm with extended switching distance. In the 3 mm housing they provide a switching distance of 1 mm, or 1,5 mm in the 4 mm diameter housing. For the user this means greater operating security with less installation and setup effort.
The compact inductive switches feature complete processing electronics integrated in the housing. There is an LED for indicating the switching state. The switching frequency is up to 5 kHz, with an output current of 100 mA. They have a stainless steel housing and an enclosure rating of IP 67, making them insensitive to shock, vibration, moisture, electromagnetic fields or voltage spikes - highly suitable for harsh industrial environments.
This series is available with integrated cable, an M8 connector and now also with an M5 connector. Balluf says the M5 is the smallest connector-type proximity switch on the market.
