Erni's type M DIN 41612 connectors may be fitted with 2, 4, 6, 8 or 10 special contacts and thereby allow many different applications in the telecommunications and data transmission fields.
Male and female coax, fibre-optic and/or 40 A high-current contacts may be fitted adjacent to the signal contacts. High current contacts have up to now only been available in solder or crimp versions. Female high current pressfit contacts are now available for use in Type M and Type ZW connectors.
Rated at max 40 A, Ernipress high current contacts are inserted directly through the connector housing into the PCB and include benefits such as:
* Gastight, corrosion-free and mechanically-stable connections.
* No dry solder joints.
* PCB not subjected to high temperatures - no thermal stress.
* No flux problems.
* Connections to both sides of the PCB possible.
* Official UL approval.
* EE type press-fit contacts have a high degree of flexibility and permit greater PCB hole tolerances.
