A new adapter said to provide a convenient, cost-effective method of converting Intel and other DIP devices or emulators to a PLCC device socket is now being offered by Aries Electronics.
The Aries Correct-A-Chip Adapter features a DIP top and socketable PLCC bottom. The DIP to PLCC adapter/emulator interface connects a 40-pin DIP device to a 44-pin PLCC. This jumperable adapter enables users to employ various 80CXX microprocessors and other IC devices that follow standard DIP to PLCC pinout configurations without having to implement expensive board design changes. To facilitate trouble-shooting or debugging, the adapter brings out all DIP pins to the side of the adapter's plated through holes.
The new Aries PLCC adapter features gold shell and contacts. Pins are brass alloy 360 plated with 5,07 µm over 2,54 µm min nickel.
