16-channel, 14 bit DAC

Analog Devices has added a 16-channel, 14-bit DAC to its portfolio of multichannel digital-to-analog converters. The AD5390 comes in the small CSP package, operates from a single 5 V power supply, and contains an on-chip, low-drift reference, eliminating the need for an external reference IC, reducing cost and board space requirements. A 12-bit version - the AD5391 - and an 8-channel, 14-bit version - the AD5392 - are also available. All three feature user-programmable offset and gain for digital range adjustment and system calibration, a 'boost mode' for faster settling times, and an LDAC (load DAC) function for simultaneous update of all DAC outputs. In addition, they offer the choice of SPI1 and I2C serial interfaces and are pin-for-pin compatible. Among many other general-purpose applications, the AD539x multichannel devices are suited to power amplifier control, instrumentation, control systems, and high-resolution control loops.
