Bright surface mount LEDs feature integrated heat sink

BivarOpto's Solaris SM Series of high performance surface mount LED devices provide a compact, low-profile light source with forward current drive that ranges from 75-175 mA (IF). They are ideally suited for improved brightness and packaging versatility in automotive, instrumentation, outdoor displays (daylight visible), and portable device applications.

The Solaris Series is available in five colours, including blue, true green, red, yellow and white, with luminance intensities ranging from 1400-2000 mcd, at 75 mA and 175 mA forward current (IF) respectively. Similarly, high total flux levels are characteristic (4000-5500 millilumens), demonstrating superior high brightness and contrast. Forward voltages range from 2,2-5,5 V typical. Operating temperature is -40 to +100°C, with power dissipation ranging from 525-450 mW by integrating a proprietary heatsink structure into the surface mountable device.

These miniaturised SMT LEDs are packaged in highly compact 6 mm square packages with a profile only 1,5 mm in height. For added versatility, they provide a wide 120° viewing angle.
