An Ethernet to RS232/422/485 data gateway from ProMicro, is especially designed for remotely controlling and monitoring devices via the Internet, without changing existing hardware or software. The ADAM-4570/1 provides one or two RS232/485/422 serial ports individually configured for various applications.
With transmission speeds of up to 230 Kbps, the device meets the demands of high speed exchange and users can use its Windows utility to configure the device without further programming.
The ADAM-4570/1 integrates both existing HMI software and the RS232/422/485 system architecture with an Ethernet network reducing cabling space and software development cost. Its high performance RISC CPU and realtime operating system reduces CPU load giving a more reliable and stable operation. Users are able to remotely download programs to a designated device via Ethernet, reducing the need for on-site maintenance and diagnosis.
Supplied with a Windows configuration and port mapping utility, the ADAM-4570/1's configuration tool can auto detect all similar modules on the network. Settings are easily adjusted and the port mapping utility aids in the setting up of 255 ports for one Windows NT and Windows 2000 platform.
A security mechanism avoids unauthorised use, and the device has surge protection for its RS485 line and power supply. Typical applications include factory automation, scada and telecommunication systems and building automation.
