AnalogicTech's AAT3680 device, a linear battery charge controller capable of supporting either a 1-cell or 2-cell (4,2 or 8,4 V) Lithium-Ion or -Polymer pack, supports all charging modes and also provides a complete set of protection features for overcurrent, overvoltage, and temperature protection. In addition to a status output for an LED indicator light for the charging process, it also features a 1 MHz microprocessor serial interface, which transmits info on the state of the battery, whether it is charging, in an error condition or suffering from a temperature fault. It accepts 4,5 to 15 V input, supports all charging modes including trickle charge for deep cell discharge conditioning, constant current for maximum charging speed, and constant voltage for final top-off of the battery. The AAT3680 also features an optional fast trickle charge at a 2X rate to accelerate the charge cycle. It comes in 8-pin MSOP or compact 12-pin TSOPJW.
