DC-DC converter has simple external output control

Power Electronics / Power Management
Torex Semiconductor introduced the XC9106/07 series of step-up DC-DC converters to help designers reduce PCB real estate requirements and increase power efficiency for the latest generation of battery-powered mobile devices. The converters provide simple external control of output voltages, stable output under all loads and ceramic capacitor compatibility. The XC9106/07 series has been specifically designed to allow an external reference voltage (Vref) to be applied. Output voltage can be set up to 35 V using external resistors. Vref can be 0,8 to 2,5 V. For example, for an output of 25 V, a Vref of 2,5 V and split external resistors of 270 kΩ and 30 kΩ are required. Input voltage range for the converters is 0,9 to 10 V. Output remains stable regardless of the type of load capacitor, however low ESR ceramic capacitors can also be used on the output, resulting in lower output ripple. Oscillation frequencies of 300 kHz or 100 kHz are available. Typical power efficiency is 85%.
