Universal Instruments' 4797L HSP turret-style chipshooter recently won two separate prestigious industry awards - both in the premium pick-and-place category.
The HSP secured top prize in the placement equipment category at the 12 annual excellence in electronics packaging and production awards sponsored by EP&P magazine. In addition, the HSP also seized first place in the SMT Vision Awards sponsored by SMT magazine.
All entrants to both sets of awards were scrutinised and judged by separate panels of independent industry and technology experts. "I am delighted that independent bodies of expertise recognise the capabiligy and value of the HSP machine," says an elated Karen Moore-Watts, who attended the awards presentations. "It reflects the machine's best-in-class status and also serves to acknowledge the efforts of those individuals at Universal whose dedication is behind the success of the HSP Chipshooter. These awards are for them," she adds.
