Tyco Electronics has entered into a licence agreement with Radiall for EPXA & B Series connectors. The EPXA & B Series is a general-purpose interconnection system that is used extensively in military and commercial aircraft applications. This series is a new concept of rectangular modular connectors that gives more flexibility with improved performance than standard circular Mil-spec connectors.
Under the terms of the agreement, Tyco Electronics is qualified as a second source supplier and is authorised to manufacture, market and sell EPXA & B Series connectors globally. Tyco Electronics is also authorised to modify, expand, and extend the product design as needed to fulfil the requirements of new applications and markets. The two companies will work jointly to deliver truly intermateable, interchangeable products by sharing designs on existing products as well as on product range extensions.
Says Greg Johnson, vice president of Tyco's Global Industrial and Commercial Business Unit, "This is an excellent addition to our product portfolio. The EPX products are a natural fit to address application requirements for our military and aerospace customers. We are also equally excited to extend and expand the usage of these products by addressing opportunities in other industries and markets."
