Power supply requirements are changing dramatically, forcing designers to use smaller, more efficient solutions. Special attention should be given to the aspects: power density, quality, reliability, efficiency, handling, thermal behaviour and electromagnetic compatibility (EMC).
The power entry module DC12 from Schurter is an IEC/EN 60320-1 appliance inlet C14 with a 1-resp 2-pole line switch and a line filter, which is designed for these requirements.
The DC12 is made especially for high inrush currents and is suitable for high transient loads. The EMC line filters are available in the standard rated currents for standard and medical versions and the single components are already wired to keep the number of components low in the power supply. The same assembling dimensions for 1- and 2-pole line switch version as well as the screw-on and snap-in mounting offers a variety of designs and optimal safety.
The DC12 is approved to 10 A, 125/250 V a.c., 50/60 Hz according to ENEC, UL, CSA and is suitable for use in equipment according to IEC/EN 60950.
