Tyco Electronics' UL-approved AMP Power Series 120 A power connectors are available in either a two-pole battery connector or a single-pole, stackable general-purpose connector. The connectors are rated for 120 A at 600 V (AC or DC) when using 2 AWG wire. Both connector styles employ a genderless housing design that mates two identical connector halves so that only one housing part number is necessary.

These connectors are suitable for material handling equipment, electrical vehicles, electric utility vehicles, power supplies, rechargeable batteries and telecommunications equipment. The connectors use an impact resistant, UL 94V-0 polycarbonate housing.

The two-pole version is available in blue or grey, while the single pole is available in blue, black, white, green or red. The single pole version allows stacking into multipole configurations with visual colour-coding to match wires. Additional colours or keys are possible.

Contacts are silver plated copper, offering low resistance and superior conductivity. Designers can select from individual cold-headed contacts or two contacts kitted with a housing. The contacts feature a self-cleaning design suitable for up to 10 000 mating cycles. The self-cleaning feature minimises arcing by scraping corrosion from mating surfaces after each mating cycle. AMP power connectors accept 2 to 6 AWG wire.
