M.P.E's low profile IC sockets offer many advantages for the professional user. The insulators are self extinguishing polyester/fibre reinforced to V-O UL 94 which allows an operating temperature range of -48 to +160°C. Open frame construction allows for better air circulation and cooling of ICs (closed frame IC sockets are also available). They are side and end stackable for maximum board utilisation.
The Series MPQ (quiet socket) is available from 14 to 40 poles (ceramic capacitor) 100 nF standard, or alternatively 330 nF. Contacts are gold over nickel plated Beryllium copper BECU heat-treated and are good for 1000 insertions. Test voltage is more than 1000 V effective and insulation resistance more than 1012 Ω.
Vibration and shock resistance are rated to MIL-STD-202 - 10-2000 Hz and acceleration rate of 20 to 150 g.
The M.P.E. range of SIL, DIL, MLC and PLCC sockets are also available with special contacts and wire-wrap terminations.
