Access Control & Identity Management
Connections should have the same signal and transmission characteristics as the internal system data cables. Data should be transmitted with as few errors as possible, without time delay, signal loss, mutual influences or other electro-magnetic interference. The Erni Ermet connectors come close to this ideal because of their constant geometrical proportions and cable cross-sections as well as the pseudo-coax arrangements of the signal and ground pins.
The design is based on extensive measuring programs for the characteristics of the widest variety of connector systems conducted in the pico-second range and with frequency spectra of up to 20 GHz. These measuring results are the basis for simulation models which allow the characteristics of the connectors to be determined early in the design phase. As a result, development times can be reduced and systems can be better adapted to the requirements of customers. Full details are available in the Erni brochure available from the distributor.

Editor's Choice Interconnection
If you look across the broader electromagnetic spectrum, the selection of the 3 kHz to 300 GHz frequency range for RF signals is a result of a balance between propagation characteristics, data transmission requirements, regulatory allocations, and the compatibility of electronic components and devices.
