Reliable removable storage media is always a challenge in the design of robust mobile systems. The communication speed is often a bottleneck with new mass storage solutions and other standard 1.1 USB connected devices. RTD Finland has thus introduced the CM17207HR four channel PC/104-Plus USB 2.0 interface to the market with an extended operating temperature range of -40 to +85°C.
Datarates to external memory devices reach 13 MBps and new high speed Disk-on Key or DVD CD-ROM can be connected to one of the four ports. Two ports are designed to support standard 500 mA USB devices, while two USB ports have 2 A current drive switches allowing external devices to be powered from the CM17207HR board.
