Locally-made wire ID tags and labels

25 February 2004 Interconnection Surveillance

Grafoplast Wiremarkers Africa is now supplying locally-manufactured tags and labels for use on the S12KPRINTUNO thermal printer. This move ensures a 30% price reduction over imported similar products according to the company. The material is produced by a major local plastics manufacturer who, together with Grafoplast, sourced the specialist ingredients to meet the stringent standards required by Grafoplast internationally. The product is then assembled and packed by Grafoplast in Johannesburg.

The specialised tags and labels meet all international specifications and fully comply with the stringent requirements of the petro-chemical industry, being VO according to self-extinguishing class UL94. Other important features include high resistance to UV light or direct sunlight to limit premature ageing and fragility, resistance to atmospheric agents and long-term effective operation in temperatures from -35°C to 105°C.
