The Variosub RJ-45/IP67 connector from Phoenix Contact has been specially developed to withstand adverse conditions associated with use directly on machinery and in industrial installations, and to protect the RJ-45 contact insert. It meets IAONA requirements for heavy-duty use, enabling the office world's standard connector to be used in harsh industrial Ethernet environments. It is suitable for fast Ethernet transmissions at 100 Mbps.
To provide protection against dirt and moisture ingress, the connector meets protection category IP67. The housing is made from an impact- and temperature-resistant, UV-stable polyamide and is also resistant to chemicals, oils, and greases. Built to withstand impacts and vibration, it is also protected against the effects of forces pulling the mounting and hood sides apart, lateral forces on the connector housing, and forces pulling the cables out of the cable grip. The components are amply screened against adverse EMC conditions.
No tools are needed to lock in the plug housing as its 'push and play' operation simplifies both setting up and maintenance work.
