Dual-entry diecast backshell for D-Subs
10 March 2004
Interconnection
Tyco has launched a range of diecast backshells that further broadens its capability in the D-Sub accessory market. This range was originally developed for two key customers in Germany but has potential applications for a much wider market.
Offering the important feature of a dual cable entry, these backshells are an ideal solution for industrial applications requiring a daisy chain arrangement, where a serial connection is made to a number of individual pieces of equipment or modules.
The dual cable entry is available in 9 to 37 way (shell sizes 1 to 4) with a choice of screw cable clamp or crimped ferrule. A blanking plate included for single cable entry applications. It is supplied with jackscrews for locking with mating connector.
Applications are for serial data connection in many industrial bus applications such as printing machines, packaging systems, factory automation and materials handling.
