Plug and sockets allow faster and safer electrical connections

10 March 2004 Interconnection

Camden Electronics has launched a range of plug and socket connectors that it claims provide faster and safer connections in a wide range of lighting and electrical applications.

The CLC series plug and socket connectors are moulded in black or white PA6 and provide connection for two poles plus earth with maximum rating of 400 V a.c. The connectors are suited for use in a wide range of mains electrical and lighting applications providing total protection of live parts. They are polarised to eliminate the possibility of faulty connections and are IP40 rated when plug and socket are connected.

VDE and KEMA approved, the plug and socket connectors feature raised screws for easier insertion of conductors and latching types are available for even safer connections. Fast connector types featuring two fast connection points per pole are also available for use with rigid conductors.

Specifications include maximum voltage of 400 V a.c., working temperature for -50 to +85°C, tinned brass contacts and zinc-plated steel metric thread captive screws. Cable outlets are available in half-round and flat formats.
