Innovative trimmers

A leader in trimming potentiometers, Murata's innovative developments produce small, advanced designs. One of the world's big users of SMD components, it has a thorough understanding of the problems of surface mounting. Among the offerings are equivalents for most of the established 'standard' formats, and now also new innovative space saving types. The company recently introduced a 3 mm2 closed pot for high temperature operation and Pb-free reflow soldering (PVG3A).

This joins its extensive range of SMD and through-hole mounting, open and sealed, single and multiturn pots. A good example is the PVF2; on a 2 mm2 footprint this is a sealed single-turn pot with a rotational stop, for auto-mounting and reflow soldering.

There is a choice of resistance curves and a rotational life of 100 cycles is guaranteed. Designs include unique features like a flux trap to contain any flux that does manage to penetrate during soldering, funnel shaped adjustment slots for automatic adjustment and J and Gull Wing terminations for mounting on different layouts.
