International Rectifier's IR3101 is a complete driver IC with proprietary HVIC and latch immune CMOS technologies for appliance motor drive applications. The device simplifies half-bridge inverter designs for one-, two- or three-phase motor drives up to 400 W (up to 250 W with no heat-sink cooling). In addition, its small size in isolated MiniSIP package allows component layout to be optimised for smaller PCB space, reducing unwanted EMI emissions. The output features two built-in HEXFET power MOSFETs with ultra-fast recovery body diode characteristics (FredFET) that deliver low di/dt gate drive for better noise immunity and low losses. Propagation delays for the high- and low-side power FredFET devices are matched for better synchronised switching characteristics and lower output distortion. The IR3101 device can operate up to 500 V at temperatures as high as 150°C. Operating frequency is rated at 20 kHz and current, 1,6 A.
