The EDG-4100 from ProMicro, is a one-port, RS232 to Ethernet, data gateway board, providing fast and cost-effective networking. It enables most devices to communicate over the Internet, allowing them to be remotely monitored, managed and controlled.
High transmission speeds of up to 230 kbps are possible, and 10/100Base-T Ethernet and TCP/IP protocol are supported. The EDG-4100 is especially suitable for remote management and data accessibility to many of the devices that cannot connect to networks. Examples are factory machinery, security systems, heating and ventilation systems, lighting control systems and point-of-sale devices.
The 54 x 59 mm Ethernet board can fit easily into almost any device, says ProMicro. The board provides pin headers to connect LAN, DI/O, power and RS232 into customers' boards. It is quick and cost effective for users to connect the system to the Internet. The EDG-4100 also provides eight DI/O for additional flexibility.
