Ohmite Manufacturing Company's new 30 Series of 'high energy wire wound resistors' is manufactured specifically to maximise and fix the joule rating of each resistor. Energy ratings for standard values from 1 through 150 Ω are published on Ohmite's website at www.ohmite.com.
High energy wire wound resistors are ideal for pulse applications where energy rating, rather than continuous power rating, is the overriding concern for the designer. Standard versions are inductively wound, and in low frequency, low resistance applications, can replace composition type resistors. This series of products includes both SMD and heat-sinkable versions.
