QuickLogic is integrating Aldec's Active-HDL Lite verification environment into its QuickWorks V9.6 design software package. The Active-HDL Lite software supports either Verilog or VHDL simulation and will provide an enabling design entry, project management and verification solution for QuickWorks users.
QuickLogic and Aldec have partnered to provide seamless integration of a Lite version of Aldec's Active-HDL 6.2 simulation software into QuickWorks V9.6 design software. The Active-HDL software includes complete support for all of QuickLogic's device families including the µWatt FPGA Eclipse II family of field programmable gate arrays (FPGAs), the QuickMIPS Programmable SoC, and the QuickPCI programmable PCI controller family.
"With Aldec's verification expertise, Active-HDL is an ideal addition to our QuickWorks development software," said Brian Faith, director of Logic Products. "Along with other components such as Synplicity's Synplify Lite, Active-HDL Lite will be an essential tool for designers needing to simulate higher performance designs while continuing to minimise power consumption."
Active-HDL Lite is a single integrated design environment that helps cut time-to-market for engineers working with programmable logic designs. The simulator integrated by QuickLogic offers advanced features including a state machine editor, block diagram editor, design flow manager, scripting capability, and a C-Synthesis Interface for Handel-C along with other features found in the Lite version of the simulator.
The Active-HDL Simulator has complete simulation support for IEEE 1076-87/93 VHDL, IEEE 1076.4-2000 standard for VITAL, IEEE 1364-1995 Verilog with Verilog 2001 extension and EDIF Simulation.
"At Aldec we realise that low power is a huge issue for designers. The QuickWorks bundle from QuickLogic provides a highly integrated, seamless flow for low power designers to dive right in," says David Rinehart, director of marketing at Aldec.
