In 1977 Fluke launched the world's first handheld multimeter and shortly thereafter, the very popular 70 Series Analog/Digital Multimeter. Surprisingly, according to local Fluke distributor, Spescom MeasureGraph, there are many of these originals still doing good service.
This is a real testimony to the Fluke brand and its reputation for safety, ease of use and rigid standards of quality.
But, technology has not stood still in the intervening years, says SMG. Fluke has helped define and grow a unique technology market, providing testing and troubleshooting capabilities that have grown to mission critical status in the manufacturing and service industries. So, for those users who are still in possession of an old Fluke 70 Series multimeter, the company says that now is the time to seriously consider upgrading to the new Fluke 179.
The new Fluke 179 has 12 critical new features and diagnostic functions that are listed below. This means faster, safer and more accurate testing.
