World's densest solid-state coupler

NVE has introduced a high-speed five-channel spintronic coupler. Using NVE's patented spintronic giant magnetoresistors (GMR) combined with CMOS circuitry, IsoLoop couplers in 3,8 mm by 10,2 mm 16-pin SOIC packages, are claimed to be the world's densest solid-state couplers. With a 110 megabaud data rate, they are also said to be the world's fastest couplers, more than twice as fast as the fastest optical couplers. The IL261 coupler has four transmit channels and one receive channel. The high channel density make the part ideally suited to isolating multiple ADCs and DACs. The symmetric spintronic coupling barrier provides a typical propagation delay of 10 ns and a pulse width distortion of 2 ns, the best specs of any solid-state coupler, claims NVE. Typical transient immunity is 30 kV/µs and specified operation is over -40 to +85°C with no derating.
