The 275 V working and 350 V protection voltage of the TISP4350L3BJ meets class B ringer levels and enables protection of the modem ring hook-switch relay while the TISP4070L3BJ provides maximum protection for the modem electronics with its 58 V working and 70 V protection voltage. For higher current applications, H3 versions of both devices are available, offering 200 A ratings in the same package.
The device package and chip design have been optimised to handle the FCC surges and to maintain current conduction for the full test duration of the AC power cross currents, which range from 2,2 to 40 A. The resulting low capacitance design presents less than 20 pF under bias conditions, ensuring negligible line loading. In addition, the combination of fast operation with the voltage accuracy of the manufacturer's ion implantation process reduces voltage overshoot under surge conditions, minimising circuit stress.
This flexible range of devices may be used singly for metallic protection between ring and tip or in pairs for longitudinal protection to ground, with the proven SMB surface mount package saving valuable board space for either application.
