As a major supplier of connection technologies for severe environments, Souriau offers a wide range of copper and fibre-optics solutions for high-speed networks in harsh environments and especially for airborne applications. Its solutions can handle data speeds from several Mbps up to several Gbps using a wide array of communication protocols (Ethernet, ATM, etc.).
Regarding fibre-optics, Souriau's hermaphroditic optical contact is called ELIO. This contact has been developed to comply with users' requirements, and is thus the best solution when high data-rate and large bandwidth are required. Thanks to its performance and ease of use, Souriau says that ELIO technology has been chosen for video applications by Airbus for its A-380 aircraft.
The company says that the best choice for users who require copper technology for high-speed networks such as FDX applications, would be its Quadrax solution. Souriau guarantees the performance specification because of its reliable wiring method. The Quadrax and ELIO contacts can be fitted into standard Aeromil connectors such as ARINC 600, ARINC 700, MIL-DTL-38999.
