Tyco Electronics' next generation AMP PACE card edge connectors are based on 2,8 X 5,1 mm centrelines and accept 1,37 mm to 1,78 mm daughtercards. Eye of the needle contacts accommodate simple, solder-free press fitting into a PCB. Since this product is flat-rock compatible, no special tooling is required. Next-generation AMP PACE card edge connectors are suitable for computer boards, communication equipment, industrial controls and machinery as well as test equipment and instrumentation.
The connectors are available in 10 through 60 dual position sizes and have the same overall dimensional envelope as current AMP PACE connectors. Contacts are rated for 3 A and 1000 V a.c. withstanding. The housing is moulded from glass-filled polyester while the contacts are phosphor-bronze with nickel underplating and select gold finish. Contact insertion averages 3,18 kg per contact.
