Coax sockets handle high voltages

Two new 50 Ω coaxial sockets, from WW Fischer, feature 90° elbows with two panel-fixing nuts designed for securing to a chassis using both a plain hex nut followed by a decorative nut. The design allows the connector to be assembled to the PCB then offered to the chassis.

The test voltage in the mated position is 5 kV d.c. for the 102 series and 10 kV d.c. for the 103 series. The construction incorporates female bronze contacts and PTFE/Teflon dielectric. Both mating plugs will accept RG58/URM76 and many other standard cables.
