Cypress Semiconductor recently announced that AJA Video, a manufacturer of professional digital video solutions, has selected Cypress' HOTLink II transceiver (CYV15G0101DXB) for its standard definition serial digital interface (SD-SDI) and high definition serial digital interface (HD-SDI) video interface and conversion products.
The HOTLink II transceivers are said to be the only integrated SERDES available on the market to enable both SD and HD video applications in a single device.
The CYV15G0101DXB meets both SMPTE 259M (270 Mbps) and SMPTE 292M (1,485 Gbps) digital television broadcast speeds, as well as the DVB-ASI (270 Mbps) video transport standard. In addition, HOTLink II transceivers are compliant with common storage and datacom standards including ESCON, Fibre Channel and Gigabit Ethernet.
The highly integrated HOTLink II video transceivers are flexible, offering a wide operating range (0,2-1,5 Gbps), bypassable 8B/10B encoding, and redundant outputs and selectable inputs. Each device integrates transmit, receive, and bypassable encoder/decoder (ENDEC) functionality in a single-chip solution.
