One of the largest Internet Service Providers in Taiwan is using Advantech's IPC-602 2U six-slot rackmount IPC chassis as the hardware platform to run their proprietary guest access dial-up service, a feature which is unique in their market, according to Advantech.
The guest access system allows new users to dial up and connect to the system without having a user account. They can access the sign-up page on the main website and set up a new account online. The ISP uses the compact IPC-602 running proprietary software to handle the task at six branch locations spread throughout the country. Advantech says that the IPC-602 was chosen for its superior space saving ability and the reliability necessary to operate at remote unstaffed locations.
