USB JTAG emulator for TI DSP platforms

9 February 2005 DSP, Micros & Memory

The new Blackhawk USB560 is the second generation of the widely used XDS560-class emulator first introduced by Blackhawk and, according to the company, the only USB JTAG Emulator that supports all of the advanced capabilities of Texas Instruments' latest DSPs. These capabilities include high-speed realtime data exchange (RTDX), for high speed downloads and advanced event triggering to quickly find and fix realtime software problems.

The compact emulator pod features a variable timing clock up to 35 MHz and includes a detachable, multivoltage cable/pod assembly. Drivers are provided for Windows 98/ME/2000/XP. Software compatibility with all versions of Code Composer and Code Composer Studio including v2.2 and above, and a driver independent DLL developed by Blackhawk, helps assure existing and future device compatibility for legacy or new DSPs.

The Blackhawk USB560 JTAG Emulator supports TMS320, TMS470 (ARM) and OMAP families. Legacy support for Code Composer v4.1x and Code Composer Studio v1.2 gives users access and compatibility to VC33, C20x and C24x. The USB560 JTAG Emulator is also compatible with the Code Composer Studio Flash-burner utility.
