Adaptive AI technology for microcontrollers

Sensory has introduced Adaptive Artificial Intelligence for its RSC-4x Family of speech processors. This new technology empowers developers to create products that learn over time and display life-like personalities, it says. Adaptive Artificial Intelligence (Adaptive AI) is optimised for small, embedded footprints, suitable for low cost consumer electronics, toys and games. Adaptive AI technology is a methodology based on statistical pattern recognition expressed as reinforcement learning. Products imitating real life behaviours are a growing market as evidenced by the recent trend in entertainment robots and dolls. Adaptive AI may also be used to enable a light switch or a thermostat to learn a user's preferences for patterns of use and settings and meet those desires automatically. No extensive product set-up is required. A short period of usage teaches the product the user's preferences, and as the user's preferences change over time, the product will learn these as well. Sensory's RSC-4x microcontroller family with speech input/output capabilities support the Adaptive AI technology.
