Cyan Technology claims its new 16-bit Flash µCOG1m microcontroller packs more functionality into its ultra-small package than any comparable product on the market. Each low-power device contains a full range of peripherals which can be very quickly configured using the company's 'Peripheral Configuration' tool. The product is housed in an 8 mm square, 81 pin LFBGA package. Based on a Harvard RISC core, the chip offers an extremely low power consumption - 400 nA in standby, and 10,1 μA when continuously clocked at 16 kHz. Each μCOG1m also incorporates the many on-chip peripherals as its eCOG1k including a number of serial interfaces (dual UARTs, dual USARTs, SPI and IrDA), timers, 16-bit clock generator timers, general-purpose event counter timers, an A to D converter and extensive range of communications interfaces. It also offers 60 digital I/O and analogue functions and 28 special GPIO pins.
